Ever since Duck hit the stage on Broadway, he’s been rather partial to a top hat. So it seemed only fitting that Duck Does should get the chance to play the Mad Hatter.
If you’ve read some of my other posts, like Duck Does phantom, you’ll get the idea that I’m a fan of fantasy.
When I’m reading by myself, I always reach for Terry Pratchett. However, my youngest son and I both enjoy the childrens’ classics. One of the first books that we shared was the original Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
Lewis Carroll’s plethora of the most fantastical characters is quite astounding. If asked, I reckon the Hatter would be one that most people recalled.
I think Johnny Depp certainly did the Hatter justice in the 2010 film Alice in Wonderland.
Johnny Depp is a genius at playing the eccentric characters of the world. And while Gene Wilder is still my favourite Willy Wonka, I thought Depp portrayed him brilliantly, too. However, as an aside, The Professor ranks up there in my top ten films ever.
Johnny, watch out: Duck Does mad (Hatter).
